The idea is to bring into the public what we as artists collect.
We have artworks of other artists that we value because they have been with us- bought, gifted, exchanged, found etc. In addition we artists pick up things – from the street, from nature – things that have significance for us as artists- as form, as cultural remnants, as ideas. They may be junk for others but to us they have value.
In a way it is an attempt to subvert the idea of a private collection where art works get value through other criteria. Here objects get a status through the artists gaze. A status that is precarious and doubtful even.
