The Kalaburagi district units of the All India Democratic Students Organisation and the All India Democratic Youth Organisation have opposed the government’s proposal to have public-private participation in the development of tourist destinations in the State.
District president of AIDYO Mahesh Nadagouda in a release here stated that the Tourism Department has identified 46 tourist destinations to be adopted by the corporate sector under the Corporate Social Responsibility for overall development. Mr. Nadagouda said that once the government allows the entry of the corporate sector in tourism development, it would be difficult for the government to have control over them and this would also allow the corporate sector to make huge profits in the name of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Mr. Nadagouda also opposed the adoption of Venkatappa Art Gallery at Bengaluru by a private foundation.
